The City of Springdale is conducting a selection process for the position of Police Officer

Application window is February 12, 2018 through March 1, 2018 between 8:30am and 4:30pm. Applications must be submitted, in person, to the Springdale Municipal Building at 11700 Springfield Pk. Springdale, OH 45246. Applications can be picked up at the above address or at www.springdale.org. The Civil Service Examination will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 9:00am.

Qualifications: Candidates for the position must be a U.S. citizen; have a valid driver’s license; a high school graduate
or G.E.D. equivalent; be 21 years of age or older; and must be capable of passing a physical agility test. A history of
Criminal Conviction MAY disqualify an applicant.

Pay/schedule: The salary range for position of Police Officer in 2018 is $65,848.00 to $80,038.00
($31.88/h r. to $38.75/hr.). Officers work a schedule of 4 days on and 2 days off. Shifts are 8.5 hours. After
5 years of service an Officer receives longevity pay of $70.00 per year; maxing out at 25 years ($1 ,750.00).
There is also ample opportunity for additional pay through overtime and off-duty details.

Personal time: Officers, after 1 year of service, earn 85 hours of vacation time, which maxes out at 229.5
hours after 23 years of service. Officers earn 10 paid holidays and 120 hours of paid sick time per calendar
year. Officers may also earn up to 100 hours of compensatory time each calendar year.

Equipment: All uniforms, to include firearm, footwear, leather gear, and body armor are furnished by the
Department. Body armor is replaced by the Department based on manufacturer
