PLEASE NOTE: Training classes sponsored by agencies other than the HCPA are the responsibility of that agency or organization and are posted here in the interests of furthering law enforcement education. Courses are posted in order received, not by date of class so check the entire listing CANCELLATIONS: Unless otherwise noted, cancellations will be accepted up to 24 hours in advance of the course. NO SHOWS: Agencies will be billed for officers / employees who registered for classes sponsored by the Hamilton County Police Association with registration fees and failed to cancel or show up for the course. No shows or cancellations for training sponsored by agencies or organizations other than the HCPA are subject to their rules and regulations. Standardized
Field Sobriety Testing The Norwood Police Department is sponsoring a Standardized Field
Sobriety Testing (formally ADAP) class on March 19, 20, 2l and.22"0,2012.
The Course is designed to certify the student in the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration Standardized Field Sobriety Testing procedures
including the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. Two of the training days will
consist of actual testing of individuals at various stages of intoxication.
Subject material includes OVI detection, note taking, legal issues and a
mock trial. |

Register Now for February CIT/MHRT Training Crisis Intervention Team Training Mental Health Response Team Training Feb. 27-March 2,2012 Training Description: The 40-hour comprehensive training emphasizes mental health related topics, crisis resolution skills and de-escalation training, and access to community-based services. The format of a 40-hour course consists of didactics/lectures, on-site visitation and exposure to several mental health facilities, intensive interaction with individuals with a mental illness, and scenario based de-escalation skill training. Experience has shown this is a minimum level of training hours. The materials covered are complex. The desired learning outcomes go beyond simple cognitive retention of the material. The outcome desired is the retention of behavioral changes learned as part of the training. Training is FREE and supported by the Hamilton County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, NAMl Ohio, and Mental Health America of Southwest Ohio.
