PLEASE NOTE: Training classes sponsored by agencies other than the HCPA are the responsibility of that agency or organization and are posted here in the interests of furthering law enforcement education. Courses are posted in order received, not by date of class so check the entire listing CANCELLATIONS: Unless otherwise noted, cancellations will be accepted up to 24 hours in advance of the course. NO SHOWS: Agencies will be billed for officers / employees who registered for classes sponsored by the Hamilton County Police Association with registration fees and failed to cancel or show up for the course. No shows or cancellations for training sponsored by agencies or organizations other than the HCPA are subject to their rules and regulations. Blue Ash Recreation Center – Lower Level Course Description: This two day course covers the basic skills necessary for an officer to survive an armed confrontation. The course will include live fire (handguns only), felony traffic stops and building searches. This course is designed by the combined experience of the Hamilton County Law Enforcement’s SWAT Teams. These officers and deputies have decades of experience in the field. During the class room phase, veteran officers who have survived armed confrontations will detail their experiences.

Training will be
held at the Scarlet Oaks campus This National Center for Missing and Exploited Children program enhances law enforcement's ability to investigate computer crimes against children. Topics include but are not limited to: Varied ways offenders use technologies and the Internet to sexually exploit children, crimes involving online sex enticement, child pornography, child prostitution, child sex rings, problems, challenges, and opportunities that law enforcement faces in responding to these crimes, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program and the Operational and Investigative Standards, technology and the Internet, understanding of technology-facilitated child exploitation investigations, information on child pornography and child erotica along with proactive and reactive investigations. Also covered are the skills needed to respond to Cybertips and victim outcries, proven techniques dealing with knock and talks, suspect and victim interviews, dangers of assuming the online identity of a child, case examples illustrating learning objectives, understanding of the technologies used to exploit children and how these same technologies can be used to investigate crimes against children, privacy issues regarding search and seizure of electronic evidence and civil liability. Discussion will include recent relevant court decisions, legal issues, BOLO alerts, interactive online services such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and ICQ and how they work with various chat room interfaces, using social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Practical exercises are also included in the course. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children offers resources to parents, children, law enforcement, and other government agencies. The cost of the program is $25.00 and is payable to Great Oaks. Fox Valley Technical College is recognized for their outstanding training courses and instructors.
